Aloia Law serves as counsel to several municipalities in Metro-Detroit. Our firm has represented the Macomb County Department of Roads in its real estate transactions and litigation including right-of way acquisitions, condemnation litigation, licenses, and land disputes since 2005.  In 2022, Aloia Law successfully defended Macomb County in a $7 Million road defect injury claim earning a “no cause of action” from the jury.

Since 2017 Aloia Law has also served as counsel to the Macomb County Department of Public Works in their real estate and litigation matters. Our firm was integral in the resolution of legal issues surrounding the 2017 Fraser Sinkhole, deemed one of the most catastrophic events in Macomb County history.  Benjamin J. Aloia served as co-counsel to the legal team that collected $12 Million Dollars against the contractors alleged to have caused the sinkhole, identified as one of the largest settlements in favor of the Macomb County government.

Aloia Law also serves as general counsel to Macomb Township, handling all its development and zoning issues and non-insured litigation.

Our firm was recently hired by the City of Detroit to handle all real estate matters related to the expansion of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Airport (former Detroit City Airport).
