Michael Craigen Kostuch is an associate attorney at Aloia Law. He concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, real estate litigation, shareholder/membership disputes, and other general business and civil litigation matters.

Michael earned his juris doctorate from Michigan State University College of Law, as well as bachelor’s degrees in both business administration and political science from Detroit Mercy. He was also a visiting student at the University of Oxford in England in the summer of 2018.

While in law school, Michael was recognized for excellence as a trial teams competitor, winning the American Bar Association Arbitration Competition 2022 Midwest Regional in Cincinnati, and placing second in the 2023 National Finals in Chicago. He also earned the first-year jurisprudence award for Research, Writing and Analysis and the coveted, MSU Board of Advocates “Most Likely to Make the Judge’s Laugh Award.”

Beginning at Aloia Law in 2021 as a file clerk, Michael worked his way to legal clerk, summer associate, and after passing the bar exam in 2023, he was hired as an associate attorney.

Michael is a passionate alumnus of De La Salle Collegiate High School. While at De La Salle, he was part of the inaugural MCCE Mock Trial team, coached by Ben Aloia. The team would eventually go on to win the 2016 MCCE Macomb County Regional, and place as a finalist for the 2016 MCCE State Tournament. He was also a catcher/designated hitter on the 2016 Baseball State Championship team.

A proud resident and member of the communities of Saint Clair Shores and Macomb County, he follows in the legal footsteps of his late grandfather, the Honorable Judge Craigen J. Oster, and his uncle, the Honorable Judge Joseph C. Oster.
