Tim Orlando, a Partner at Aloia Law, joined the firm in March 2018. Mr. Orlando brings over 35 years of experience as both a transactional and litigation attorney with a focus on commercial real estate transactions and commercial litigation. He has an active general business practice including entity formation and operation; drafting and reviewing contracts, transactional documents, and buy/sell agreements; performing risk management; negotiating and documenting mergers and acquisitions; and assisting with dissolutions. In the real estate area, he drafts and reviews real estate purchase and closing documents, residential and commercial leases, and loan documents.

In addition to his transactional practice, Mr. Orlando represents clients in commercial disputes as well as general civil actions for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, conversion, fraud, and misrepresentation. When business relationships sour, Mr. Orlando has experience litigating shareholder disputes and business dissolution actions. In the real estate and construction areas, Mr. Orlando litigates contractual disputes between builders, subcontractors, suppliers, and homeowners. Further, he prosecutes and defends quiet title, slander of title, and foreclosure actions, as well as construction lien foreclosure actions and claims under the Michigan Builders’ Trust Fund Act. Mr. Orlando is also an experienced civil appellate attorney, having successfully argued cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals.

Mr. Orlando spent the first 14 years of his legal career representing individuals and corporations in a diverse defense litigation practice where he gained experience representing clients in premises liability, automobile negligence, products liability, dram shop claims, subrogation claims, insurance coverage disputes, civil rights claims, and toxic tort actions.
