GOVERNOR RICK SNYDER APPOINTS ANNEMARIE MARINO LEPORE
OF ALOIA & ASSOCIATES, P.C. TO
41-A DISTRICT COURT JUDGESHIP
Sterling Heights, Michigan
On Friday, December 21, 2018, Governor Rick Snyder appointed Annemarie Marino Lepore, of Shelby Township, to the open judicial seat in the 41-A Judicial District Court in Sterling Heights. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Michael Maceroni.
“Annemarie has an excellent reputation among her peers, Snyder said. “I am confident she will serve the community with distinction as a district court judge.”
Annemarie has worked for Aloia & Associates, P.C. in Mount Clemens for the last 10 years where she currently serves as the law firm’s domestic litigation and criminal practice manager. In addition, Annemarie has extensive legal experience in municipal law, business and real estate transactions and litigation, and other practice areas.
“Annemarie has been a rising star in the legal community for many years.” said Ben Aloia, President of Aloia & Associates. “Her integrity, work ethic and diversity of legal experience will serve the 41-A District Court community well.”
Mrs. Lepore recently served as assistant general counsel to the Macomb Interceptor Drain Drainage District during the 15 Mile Interceptor Drain collapse, one of the worst catastrophes in Macomb County history. During this emergency project, she worked directly with the twenty-five (25) evacuated homeowners to resolve their property loss claims.
“I worked closely with Annemarie during the 15 Mile Interceptor catastrophe and witnessed Annemarie’s ability to resolve all of the homeowner claims by earning their trust, and fairly addressing their concerns,” said Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller. “I believe Annmarie is naturally suited for public service and this judgeship. The governor made an excellent choice.”
Annemarie is a life-long Macomb County resident who grew up in Harrison Township and graduated from L’Anse Creuse Central High School. Annemarie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Oakland University and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy Law School.
Annemarie has distinguished herself as a leader in the local legal community as well. She is the former president of the Woman Lawyers of Michigan-Macomb Region, and she currently serves on both the Board of Directors for the Macomb County Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the Macomb County Bar Foundation.
“Annemarie Lepore is an outstanding choice for the 41-A District Court,” said Michael Taylor, Mayor of the City of Sterling Heights and local practicing attorney. “With Mrs. Lepore on the bench, the court will be forward thinking, welcoming to new innovations that improve service and efficiency, and every attorney, litigant, victim, or witness who appears before her will be treated fairly and will benefit from her resolute desire to pursue justice in every matter.”
“I’m truly humbled and honored by this judicial appointment from Governor Snyder,” said Mrs. Lepore. “I look forward to this opportunity to serve the community in this capacity and to provide an efficient and accessible court for the attorneys and litigants.”
